Ohio-based K-Tec named to Weatherhead 100 list

Kinetic Technologies dba K-Tec has been named to the Weatherhead 100 list, a list of the top-growth companies in Northeast Ohio based on sales from 2003 through 2007.  Companies on this list must have had sales of more than $100,000 in 2003 and more than $1 million in 2007 and have had a minimum of 16 full-time employees in 2007. In 2002, at a time when industry in Northeast Ohio was struggling, founders Larry Tyler and John Neumann understood that lean manufacturing was the key to the future of manufacturing success and that there was a need for forklift alternatives.  In a corner of a plant in midtown Cleveland, K-Tec began manufacturing non-powered carts that could be hitched together and pulled in a train by a tugger. In its seven year history, the company has worked with General Motors, Ford, Parker Hannifin, Whirlpool, Value City/American Signature Furniture and Big Lots to design assembly lines, streamline production and improve warehouse/distribution center operations. K-Tec has always been a company to watch. In 2005, K-Tec received a Manny Award for manufacturing excellence from Inside Business magazine and CAMP, Cleveland Area Manufacturing Program now MAGNET. In 2007, the company ranked #1209 on the Inc 5000 list of fastest growing companies in the country between 2003 and 2006.  Also in 2007, K-Tec received an NEO Success Award from Inside Business. Now in its own plant in Wickliffe, OH, K-Tec serves markets throughout the United States and Canada.
