Weber Distribution, a leading third party logistics and supply chain management provider for 85 years, announced today that Accessories Marketing has renewed its contract for nationwide warehousing, retail compliance and distribution of their flat tire prevention and repair products.
The Slime® sealant products are manufactured at Accessories Marketing’s headquarters in Grover Beach, California and their tire care and flat tire prevention accessories are purchased from China. The products are sold by many popular retailers, including Wal-Mart, K-mart, The Home Depot, Pep Boys, Ace Hardware, Target, AutoZone, Lowes, True Value, Sports Authority, and Napa Auto Parts, to name a few.
From the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, Weber’s in-house transportation division drays the containers to their 360,000 square foot Norwalk, California-based facility, located just 20 miles from the ports. Once at the facility, Weber’s staff performs a variety of value-added services, including inventory control through regular cycle counts, order processing, label creation, and ensuring retail compliance requirements are followed on each order that is shipped. Weber’s comprehensive Retail Compliance Program manages all of the major retailers’ specific routing, shipping and labeling requirements.
According to Jason F. Hackett, director of logistics for Accessories Marketing (Slime®), most 3PLs have a warehouse management system, but the difference with Weber is their Retail Compliance Program. “We grew from 6 SKUs with Wal-Mart in 2008 to 40 this year and Weber has helped us meet each of our retailers’ shipping needs.
